ACNE SCAR treatment solution
In my teens my acne was the bane of my life - acne reduces self confidence - I hid behind my hair all the time! It was always tempting to pick at the spots & every time I did my skin ended up in even more of a mess - so here's a few tips to help avoid the acne scarring that you can easily do at home.
When it comes to acne, a pimple reduced, is a scar avoided. Much of the skin damaged caused by your acne really results from the inflammation & expansion of the skin that goes alongside the acne healing process.
You can help yourself here reduce the inflammation & swelling that accompanies your acne & therefore save your skin from deep acne scars. Here are the treatment tips below:
Step 1: Displace swelling fluids
There are a couple of ways you can shrink your pimple by displacing the antibacterial fluids that your body creates in reposnse to an acne lesion.
Try applying wet heat to the acne - place a damp cloth in your microwave for about 60 seconds, let it cool very slightly for a few seconds then apply to your acne lesion for about 2 mintes. Repeat this heat treatment 3 times on the acne lesion to help reduce the swelling of your acne.
Another way to remove antibacterial fluids from a zit is to apply tea tree oil to the spot before you go to bed. Overnight the tea tree oil will seep into the skin, displacing the fluids around the pimple & hopefully again reducing the acne lesion in size.
Step 2: Speed up the healing time with a mask
The longer an acne lesion remains in the skin, the higher the possibility of the acne leaving a scar. To speed up the healing process try applying a clay mask to the acne lesion; this helps increase blood flow to the pimple as the clay dries. Moreover, the mask will draw away excess oils from the acne lesion, further reducing the zit's size.
Step 3: Icing the swelling and reducing the pain
You can soothe acne induced pain by icing your spot. Take an ice-cube from the freezer, and then wrap five sides of the cube with a paper towel. Rub the unwrapped side of the ice cube over the acne lesion for 30-60 seconds using circular movements.
Avoiding the temptation of squeezing a spot when it has not yet reached a head. When the acne lesion does rise to a head, you can use a sterilized needle to puncture the head and release the debris inside the acne lesion. Cleanse the area with an antimicrobial wash afterwards. However, you shouldn't try puncturing long term or embedded acne cysts as this could result in deeper scarring to your skin - these should be dealt with by a medical professional.

Great Artical.. I agree, a pimple reduced is a scar avoided!!! Full blown active acne is an emergency where I work.
